Join these monthly inversion clinics, on the last Saturday of every second month, for detailed instruction to begin, progress or strengthen your inversion practice.

Ebony Prins is the co-founder of Threads, Hobart’s first Acroyoga, Partner Acrobatics and handstand training school, as well as a Yoga teacher, bodyworker and breathwork practitioner.

Ebony combines her knowledge of the body and breath with training techniques from Yoga, Circus, Acrobatics and various movement forms, to create a holistic and systematic approach to finding balance upside down.

Each month will focus on a variety of training techniques, to help you understand your body and how to build into an inversion practice that suits your level, whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or more advanced student.

Open practice time, with one-one attention, will be given at the end of each clinic, to integrate the techniques learnt and to get feedback on your personal practice.

Some aspects that Ebony will focus on during inversion clinics include:

Breath Rites Circle

Breath Rites is an invitation to experience you, all of you, as you are.

Through the use of Breathwork and somatic guidance techniques you’ll learn how to listen to and access the wisdom of your own internal guidance system - your body.

We start a conversation, between the Breath and the body and allow whatever needs attention, in that moment, to unfold and be seen.

The Breath allows us to dive into our feelings and bring awareness to a deeper information about ourselves and our environment that the brain may otherwise override or dismiss, usually in an attempt to ‘keep us safe.’

Individual experiences during Breathwork sessions can be highly varied and a safe space is created to support you in staying curious and open to what arises.

We learn to listen, we learn to be present with ourselves and most importantly, we learn how to breath through it all.

Breath-Rites is for every BODY. You can’t do it wrong. All you need is a body and a breath.

A breath session can include, but is not limited to:

  • altered states of consciousness\accessing the deeper wisdom of the body

  • visions, physical sensations, experiencing various emotions

  • accessing past traumas

  • insights to behavioural + relationship patterns

  • meeting + understanding internal blocks such as self-doubt + destructive ways of thinking/being.

  • transformation. healing. re-birthing.

  • remembering ones true multidimensionality.

**TAME THE PAIN**

Many of us are plagued by chronic pain and injuries. With Forrest Yoga you explore what works to alleviate
your pain, break the injury cycle and facilitate healing. You will use specifically directed breath and asana to
take the fear out of using injured muscles. Learn how to give fresh blood, oxygen and nerve energy to the
painful area to unclog toxins, tension and alleviate your pain. Pain is a desperate call for help. Learn to pay
attention to this cry of pain, explore what helps the area in pain. Relax your attitude enough to experiment
with what works in order to build a repertoire of healing, strengthening poses. You learn to practice your
yoga with a quality of attention and care that teaches you to befriend those areas that hold pain, instead of
isolating them. Then, gradually you breathe free the trapped energy and release the pain. Learning how to
free yourself from pain is an incredible empowering gift to give yourself.

**INVERSIONS & ARM BALANCES**
LEVEL: INT/ADV

Inversions and arm balancing poses are challenging and exciting. They rejuvenate the mind and body.
They increase circulation of blood, oxygen, and energy, stimulating the endocrine and immune systems.
Both arm balancing poses and inversions develop mental and physical strength, balance and flexibility. In
this session, learn the essential elements of these powerful poses. Learn the skills of balance and then
have fun applying them to your life.
NOTE: This session is not appropriate for pregnant woman or those with detached retinas, or wrist or arm
injuries.

Please note Forrest Yoga Workshops are not appropriate for “new to yoga” students. They are strongly focused on asana practice, not lecture or note-taking sessions. We kindly ask for no note-taking.

The African's used the name of god Mukulu not as a specific deity with specific traits and abilities but the name Mukulu represents all magic and life, it represents the elements, the invisible forces that guide and protect us, it represents the highest point in the sky and it represents the rain that provides sustenance and prosperity to the community.

Winter Warmer Intensive with Ella Pascal

Join us for our Winter Warmer Intensive as we honour the current seasonal Ayurvedic dosha, Kapha. Dominated by the water and earth elements, by nature Kapha is cold, wet and heavy. In balance, Kapha provides us the opportunity to find the stillness to nurture and build strength for the colder months. Kapha imbalanced, can lead to heaviness in the body and mind, causing poor digestion and depression.

Through movement and sweat we can remove ama (toxins) from the body which when combined with warm, spicy foods will stimulate the digestive fire (agni) and warm your body from the inside, improving digestion and state of mind.

Ella's Yinyasa sequence will be a strong, firey and dynamic flow that will ignite you from the inside out in the heart of winter. The sequence begins with several yin poses and progressively increases in tempo and technicality. While it can be self adapted/modified for every body type and level, it offers challenging options to advance your physical Asana.

With the continuity of this 5 day intensive, the repetition of this Yinyasa sequence will inspire discipline, strength, surrender and transformation. Followed by a nourishing Kapha balancing breakfast, each day you will leave feeling vibrant, joyful and ready for the day ahead. Let's do this Hobart!
