FRIDAY 15th February 2019

**LUMINOUS CORE**

Forrest Yoga takes you on a physical and mental journey deep into the core of your own being. You will
create a heightened sense of awareness through breath and asanas, and open to the amazing quality
of feeling that lives inside of you. Use Forrest Yoga to connect to your core, shed what is no longer
useful, keep what is of value and ‘with a breath of kindness blow the rest away.” Challenge and move your
core energy into those areas where it has yet to be. Come sweat, breathe deeply and enter the incredible
mystery of your core. You will feel cleansed, refreshed and alive.

WORKSHOP 2, 9:30am-12:00pm
**TAME THE PAIN**

Many of us are plagued by chronic pain and injuries. With Forrest Yoga you explore what works to alleviate
your pain, break the injury cycle and facilitate healing. You will use specifically directed breath and asana to
take the fear out of using injured muscles. Learn how to give fresh blood, oxygen and nerve energy to the
painful area to unclog toxins, tension and alleviate your pain. Pain is a desperate call for help. Learn to pay
attention to this cry of pain, explore what helps the area in pain. Relax your attitude enough to experiment
with what works in order to build a repertoire of healing, strengthening poses. You learn to practice your
yoga with a quality of attention and care that teaches you to befriend those areas that hold pain, instead of
isolating them. Then, gradually you breathe free the trapped energy and release the pain. Learning how to
free yourself from pain is an incredible empowering gift to give yourself.

WORKSHOP 3, 2:00pm-4:30pm
**INVERSIONS & ARM BALANCES**
LEVEL: INT/ADV

Inversions and arm balancing poses are challenging and exciting. They rejuvenate the mind and body.
They increase circulation of blood, oxygen, and energy, stimulating the endocrine and immune systems.
Both arm balancing poses and inversions develop mental and physical strength, balance and flexibility. In
this session, learn the essential elements of these powerful poses. Learn the skills of balance and then
have fun applying them to your life.
NOTE: This session is not appropriate for pregnant woman or those with detached retinas, or wrist or arm
injuries.

General Information:
Please note Forrest Yoga Workshops are not appropriate for “new to yoga” students. They are strongly focused on asana practice, not lecture or note-taking sessions. We kindly ask for no note-taking.


Participants should bring water, yoga strap at least 6’, yoga block, 2 mats (OR 1 mat + 1 large beach towel plus 2 rubber bands or ties to roll and secure the beach towel).

Drawing from the wisdom of Chinese Daoism, Yoga philosophy, and Tibetan Buddhism, this workshop is an intimate journey traversing our physical, emotional, and mental bodies reaching the core of our very essence.

Dorianne has been studying and practising the Soul Voice® method for 8 years, her method of teaching is both gentle and playful. Through the workshop you will learn simple, yet powerful techniques that will allow you to connect to your authentic expression. You will be guided to release negative beliefs, restrictions and judgements you may hold towards your voice, clearing the pathway to your healing voice.

A 3 hour workshop focusing on the art of inverting.

Finding balance is always a journey and something we fall out of moment to moment. When we can train our physical body to find balance, it ripples out into all layers of our being + brings us back to alignment within ourselves.

Ebony Prins is a passionate Yoga, Acroyoga + Partner Acrobatics teacher and trainer. As a bodyworker + breathwork practitioner, Ebony combines her understanding of the body + mind to create a holistic approach to inverting.

This in-depth workshop will explore various entry pathways to handstand, headstand, forearm stand + variations. By blending the technical with the subtle, you’ll learn how to create a balance in your body that feels achievable + sustainable. Some key elements of the workshop include:

  • building bone strength + muscle activations

  • how to prepare your body and mind for inverting

  • techniques on how to breathe effectively whilst inverted

  • how to build alignment from the ground up

  • discovering the elusive balance point

What we often forget though, is that self-acceptance begins with us. 

Our greatest gift to ourselves in this lifetime is to accept who we are so that we can know love. Self-acceptance begins as a practice, grows to become a skill and over time remains a well of wisdom that you draw upon when fear stirs doubt.

If your self-acceptance is calling to you, join our teacher Alanna Jane on Saturday 22 September as we come together for a Day Retreat focusing on Self-Acceptance. We will move, sit, write, share, eat, heal, sing and create. It will be a day of hip releases, heart openers and many sacred moments of remembering who you are. When we come together on retreat, we are reminded that we are not alone and that together, we rise.

Rest and surrender through restorative yoga asana's guided by one of our senior yoga teachers, Diane Summers, whilst vocal frequencies connecting with the corresponding asana's bathe you and allow you to go deeper than ever before by Dorianne (Mukulu). This beautifully nurturing duo will guide you into a state of "being" rather than a state of doing. As the outside world dissolves away you will enter into a true and authentic state of rest, where the body and the whole being, physical, mental and emotional is free to release and unfurl, to balance and heal. 

Mukulu is the oldest name used for god. The African's used the name of god Mukulu not as a specific deity with specific traits and abilities but the name Mukulu represents all magic and life, it represents the elements, the invisible forces that guide and protect us, it represents the highest point in the sky and it represents the rain that provides sustenance and prosperity to the community.

Mukulu Rest is an invitation for you to connect with the god within, asking him, her or they to be present as you let go and allow them to enfold you. As the body softens and opens, restricted energy will unblock, enabling you to feel the sweetness of your true nature.

Winter Warmer Intensive with Ella Pascal

Join us for our Winter Warmer Intensive as we honour the current seasonal Ayurvedic dosha, Kapha. Dominated by the water and earth elements, by nature Kapha is cold, wet and heavy. In balance, Kapha provides us the opportunity to find the stillness to nurture and build strength for the colder months. Kapha imbalanced, can lead to heaviness in the body and mind, causing poor digestion and depression.

Through movement and sweat we can remove ama (toxins) from the body which when combined with warm, spicy foods will stimulate the digestive fire (agni) and warm your body from the inside, improving digestion and state of mind.

Ella's Yinyasa sequence will be a strong, firey and dynamic flow that will ignite you from the inside out in the heart of winter. The sequence begins with several yin poses and progressively increases in tempo and technicality. While it can be self adapted/modified for every body type and level, it offers challenging options to advance your physical Asana.

With the continuity of this 5 day intensive, the repetition of this Yinyasa sequence will inspire discipline, strength, surrender and transformation. Followed by a nourishing Kapha balancing breakfast, each day you will leave feeling vibrant, joyful and ready for the day ahead. Let's do this Hobart!
